Résumé + Linkedin 101 Workshop

Wednesday, September 25, 2019 | 12:30–2:00 p.m.
St. Petersburg College, St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus, Room SA 135

Stop by to start, update, or perfect your résumé so you’re ready for any employment opportunities you may find at the GET HIRED: Employment Fair. We will also touch on how to use LinkedIn to build your professional network, but the majority of the time will be spent on résumés.

Remember, writing résumés has the added benefit of preparing you to talk about yourself. Many people struggle to speak about their skills in a clear, confident way when interacting with hiring managers. Part of creating a
résumé is figuring out the best way to word things, so when you’re put on the spot at a hiring event, you already have the sentence in mind to explain your:

  • Customer service skills
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact with a multigenerational group of customers

It’s more than just a résumé. It’s a brainstorming session that prepares you to speak confidently and articulately about your strengths and abilities.
