If you aren’t convinced, attend St. Petersburg College’s Fall STEM Festival on Oct. 21 at the Clearwater Campus to find out more about what STEM fields can offer.

Fall STEM FestivalWhile we’re all in the awe of the astonishing robotics industry, there is always a human at the helm, navigating these amazing robots. A robot by the name of “Curiosity” is taking up residence on Mars and beaming back photos. One of the operators of Curiosity is Vandi Tompkins, and she has “one of the coolest jobs on earth” and spends her days driving curiosity around Mars with her team!

Liv Buli, is a resident data journalist with upstart music analytics company Next Big Sound, where she creates a narrative around music and artist data.

“I am constantly challenged and feel as though I am part of something groundbreaking,” she says. “I get to serve on A&R committees and speak on panels about what we are doing, and basically learn something new every day.”

The STEM Festival at the Clearwater Campus is a FREE event open to students from area schools and the community! Explore, enjoy and connect through STEM-related activities involving science, technology, engineering and math. There will be music, food, demonstrations, themed exhibits and prizes.

Interested in applying to SPC? Apply at the event, and the college’s application fee will be waived!

    1. Hi John – Yes! There will be lots to do and see from rock climbing to drones. Plus there will be demonstrations from FIRST Lego League students.
