Erin Coscia, a St. Petersburg College graduate and current NASA employee has informed SPC’s Career Services that the agency is now accepting applications for more than 200 summer internships across the country.
Many of those internships are right here in the Sunshine State at the Kennedy Space Center.
These internships aren’t just for those entering fields of science and engineering. Business, communications and criminal justice are just a few.
Learn more here and head to the Student Opportunities section to see all available internships. This section of NASA’s website will also list requirements for the internships and application deadlines.
NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars
Speaking of application deadlines, NASA offers another unique experience for students through a program called the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS). It is offered specifically to community college STEM students. According to the website, the NCAS gives community college STEM students an authentic NASA experience and encourages the student to complete their college training in a NASA-related field for a potential career. You’ll need to act fast if you want to take advantage of this opportunity. The application for the spring session is now open and closes this month on Dec. 15! The link for more information about this program directs you to Oklahoma State’s website, but we have been assured that the program is open to everyone.
SPC alumi and NASA
You might remember Tait Sorenson. He is a recent graduate of SPC who interned with NASA a little over a year ago. He is now attending the University of Central Florida and is working toward his bachelor’s degree.
Make sure you subscribe to the Careers and Internships blog for more opportunities like this. And watch for an upcoming post about SPC alumna Erin Coscia’s journey to her employment at NASA.
