It’s a team effort as more students attend the 2018 fall healthcare job fair. Over 150 students attended St. Petersburg College’s Health Education Center’s (HEC) Healthcare Job Fair on Tuesday, October 16. This is an increase of 94 students compared to 56 who attended the 2018 Spring Career Fair.
According to Monica Roberts, the HEC Career Outreach Specialist, “We really increased our marketing efforts to raise awareness for our students enrolled in the HEC health education programs, and our faculty, staff and administration played a critical role in passing along details of the event. It’s a team effort.”
The healthcare field has a very robust future. According to the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare occupations are predicted to grow 18 percent from 2016 to 2026. This growth is expected to impact the increase in students interested in SPC’s health education programs across all disciplines. As more students enroll in our health education programs, we will be able to increase the volume of organizations who will be in attendance at both our fall and spring career fairs providing viable job opportunities and internships for our students.
