Social and Behavioral Sciences Careers Explored at March 27 Workshop

The Career Services Department at the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus is hosting an Career Exploration Workshop for Social and Behavioral Sciences Careers for those already majoring in or considering a career in the Social and Behavioral Sciences fields.

The two-part workshop features an industry expert answering questions during the first half, and Career Services staff preparing attendees for Social and Behavioral Sciences careers during the second half. The workshop will be held:

  • 12:30- 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 27, 2018
  • St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus – SA-135
  • FREE and open to the public

The Social and Behavioral Sciences fields cover a wide variety of majors and careers. Below are just a few careers that you might consider in the field of Social and Behavioral Sciences:

Expert advice

During the first part of our workshop, we will be joined by Kimberlie Gordon, Co-founder of Survivors of Addiction, Inc.

Survivors of Addiction is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe housing and access to recover for those who suffer from the disease of addiction. Gordon also hosts a weekly radio show called “Surviving Our Addictions Radio.”

Student Success Manager Neil Keith will also be on hand to answer questions about the Social and Behavioral Sciences field.

Preparing for your career

During the second part of the workshop, Career Services staff will provide tips to help you prepare for your career. We will discuss the best ways to craft a professional resume geared toward the Social and Behavioral Sciences field. We’ll also share job hunting tips and information, such as what sort of salary one could expect as well as an overview of hot job markets.
