Study Abroad with SPC in Italy!  Students will learn about the influence of Rome on the development of Western art, architecture, and ideas. We will encounter Rome’s heroic past, the growth of the empire, the pervasive influence of the Roman Catholic Church during the Middle Ages, and the blending of Christian themes and Classical forms in the period of the Renaissance.

In Rome, students will be able to experience great works of art and architecture first-hand by visiting the Vatican Museum, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, and the Colosseum. In addition to visiting Rome, we will also tour Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, Venice, and Assisi.

The experience will give students a better understanding of Italy’s central place in the development of Western civilization.

Today I embark on one of my favorite things to do, people watching by Christian Bean

Today was an interesting day; there was actually a long break between class and the tour for that day. Though I have to admit that I was kind of disappointed that we had no more classes in the morning, I really did enjoy the conversations we got into. After class the day was nice, we … Continue reading Today I embark on one of my favorite things to do, people watching by Christian Bean

That Pope Clement VII Was a Funny Guy by Lily Gayton

Today was our last day of class at the university. We spent the class discussing the role of women in different countries around the world. We looked at the beautiful view out of the classroom windows for the last time, and we headed back to the hotel. We would not be starting our tour until … Continue reading That Pope Clement VII Was a Funny Guy by Lily Gayton
