On Feb. 28, Professor Anne Ryan, Early Childhood Education; Elaine Pepi, The Growing Place Preschool; and Kristina Davis, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, presented Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through the Arts in Early Childhood Education.
One area explored was Construction where attendees had hands-on opportunities to see the many ways we can support children’s learning with building materials already found in most preschool classrooms.
The March edition of The National Association for the Education of Young Children’s journal Young Children also focuses on Blocks and the importance of this type of experience for young children.
This event took place at the Early Childhood Care and Education Conference sponsored by the Early Learning Coalition. The conference was held at Pinellas Park High School and the attendees were Early Childhood professionals serving children throughout Pinellas County.
