This fall, St. Petersburg College’s College of Education is very excited to roll out our new Training and Development subplan as part of our Educational Studies bachelor’s degree program.
And then in Spring 2024, we will debut our Training and Development certificate program, which consists of six courses in Training & Development that will prepare completers to facilitate adult learning, corporate training and professional development. This certificate directly addresses workforce needs and emphasizes the application of adult learning theory to the design, implementation and assessment of adult training programs across a diverse set of organizations.
Certificate completers of the SPC Training & Development Certificate Program will finish with knowledge and skills in all of the following areas:

Certificate completers are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in all of the following areas:
- Trainers for volunteers in nonprofit organizations.
- Teaching adult learners in workforce development, literacy, or personal development programs.
- Training or development roles in the government or private sectors.
- Training or development roles for a company in any industry, including manufacturing and technology.
