At St. Petersburg College, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy on this national day of service by partnering with Hope Villages of America to distribute food boxes to those in need.
Food boxes will be distributed on Friday, January 15 from 9 – 11 a.m. at SPC’s Clearwater and Midtown Campuses.
Last year, the MLK Day of Service inspired hundreds of thousands all over the country to come together to serve their communities. Volunteers in Pinellas County and beyond refurbished schools and community centers, collected food and clothing, recruited mentors, completed home improvements for the elderly, and more. As part of this national effort, let’s continue SPC’s leadership with the SPC Shares food distribution project.
How to get involved:
- Share the news of food availability with your neighbors, co-workers, students and families
- Volunteer to help with food distribution on Friday, January 15 at 7:30 a.m. at either campus (Face masks are required and volunteers will be provided gloves.)
Please, always report your volunteer hours by using the Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement’s “Engage for Change” survey measurement tool.
Please note that the college and all of our locations will be closed on Monday, January 18.
