Midterm season is officially upon us, bringing its usual mix of dense study schedules, campus routine, and energy dips. But at the Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement (CCLCE), we are shaking off the midterm doldrums with an exciting new initiative focused on student leadership and civic action: Project Citizen Fellows.

We are asking standout campus leaders — chosen specifically for their dynamic leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and track record of student engagement — to help us launch this initiative across four key campuses.

What is Project Citizen Fellows?

Project Citizen Fellows is a student-led initiative designed to activate campuses around three core pillars:

• Student Engagement: Building active networks of involved students.
• Voter Registration: Ensuring every eligible student is registered and ready to participate.
• Voter Education: Providing clear, non-partisan context on issues and local democratic processes.

While the energy is driven by students, success relies on strong campus hosts to kickstart recruitment, facilitate connections, and help frame initial ideas.

What Fellows Gain

Fellows will immediately receive:

• Resume-Building Experience: Direct leadership in organizing peer-led civic campaigns.
• Skill Development: Hands-on experience in critical thinking, public outreach, and project organization.
• Formal Recognition: A Certificate of Appreciation for Strengthening Democracy awarded by the CCLCE at the end of the semester.
