Fill Empty Bowls and Fight Hunger

People look at a table of bowls to pick out a bowl for their soup and to take home with them.

Did you know there are currently thousands of Clearwater residents,  many who are children, who go hungry?

You can make a difference by helping decrease these numbers! Be the change you want to see in your community and help fill the Empty Bowls at the Clearwater Campus on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Tickets will be sold at the door or you can register  in advance.

Help fight hunger

When you arrive, pick out a bowl, handmade by a SPC ceramics faculty member, student or local artist. This is the bowl your soup will be served in along with bread and dessert. You will be able to take the bowl home with you. And 100 percent of the money collected will benefit RCS Pinellas, which provides resources to people who facing hunger, homelessness, and domestic violence.

Last year’s Empty Bowls at the Clearwater Campus raised more than $3,000 for RCS Pinellas. They are going to try to raise even more than that this year!

Ceramics at SPC

The SPC ceramics program offers courses that teach students tdesign techniques and the history of ceramics. Students are taught by professors who have real world experience and have worked in the field.

By taking part in Empty Bowls, these students can see the positive change their art can make on their local community.
