SPC student Jessica Herrera brought some Disney magic to the Student Service’s Lobby on the SP/Gibbs Campus on Wednesday, October 1. In the last five years SPC has seen an increase of students applying to and being accepting to the Disney College Internship Program. Students reside on Disney property and are paid to work in a variety of different cast positions from characters to ride attendants to hotel operations and lifeguarding.
During their time at Disney, students can take classes at Disney while continuing their courses on-line at SPC. Disney mentors students and offers opportunity for professional growth. This experience can be used as an internship in the Hospitality and Tourism Program and depending on where a student works – SPC credit internships in other program areas may qualify.
The presentation finished up with a group sing along to “Let it Go” from the Disney 2013 animated feature, Frozen. The whole experience just kind of made you want to go build a snowman, it was that magical!
