Arts & Entertainment Speed-networking at SP/Gibbs

blogOver 60 students had a date with their future during the Arts & Entertainment Speed-networking event held at the SP/Gibbs Campus on October 9th.   Students began building their career network with representatives from WMNF, Gasparilla Music Festival, the Mahaffey Theater, the Palladium, local music schools and SPC’s Fine Arts Faculty.  The rotations were quick and invigorating as the participants’ explored questions about greatest accomplishments, inspiration, career goals and what advice they might give to someone entering into their field or program.

AND JUST WHEN WE THOUGHT IT COULDN’T GET ANY MORE EXCITING…..

blog1The event culminated with the announcement by Ty Rodriguez, Executive Director of the Gasparilla Music Festival of the winner of the 2014 Music Empowers Challenge, Savannah Crowther.  Savannah was unable to be present as she is traveling with a group of students to the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention in Los Angeles.  The entire room clapped and shouted in excitement as Rosaria Pipitone relayed the news to Savannah by speaker phone.
