Steve Ford – EIC at Tarpon Springs Campus

Mr. Steve Ford has been with St. Petersburg College since August 2012.  He is currently the organization’s Employment and Internship Coordinator on the Tarpon Springs Campus.  In this role, Steve is responsible for identifying, creating, and tracking internships and employment opportunities for SPC students.  Further, he will work to build relationships with target industries, provide professional interactions with business/industry to develop and advise students on internships/employment. 

Prior to this position, Steve was the Career Outreach Specialist on the Tarpon Springs Campus, where he focused on AS degree programs in Career and Technical Education (CTE) at SPC. Prior to these positions, Steve was the Technical Research Coordinator for CTC Tampa Bay (CTCTB) where he was responsible for coordinating research for CTCTB’s Business Readiness Reviews (BRR) and conducting technical research for the military, government and first responder markets. 

Further, Steve coordinated research for STAR TEC’s TEC Launch Program.  In that role, Steve’s responsibilities included coordinating market research, developing relationships with industry associations, government organizations, and local community economic development groups as well as coordinating new platforms for entrepreneurs to showcase inventions or early stage technologies. 

Before rejoining St. Petersburg College, Steve previously held the position of Client Account Manager specializing in customized training programs for the SPC.  Steve holds a BS in Management from the University of Tampa, and was a member of the 1993 National Championship Baseball Team.
