With three weeks left in the summer semester, graduation will be here before we know it. This got me thinking: After years of having a career as a student—and frequent visits to Career and Academic Advising—what’s next?

It’s a harsh reality but, the transition into the the workforce with your hard earned degree won’t necessarily be a smooth one. Which is why preparation for life after college starts now!

Many students feel the pressure to have all your ducks in a row by graduation day. Don’t let this get you down, it is extremely difficult to have it all figured out. However, embrace a master plan that allows for change without losing sight or deterring from the ultimate goal.

Within this process of preparation, be sure to utilize your resources, such as Career Services. Career advisers can be very helpful in assisting to create a vision for the next phase of your life. But your most important resource of all is TIME. Whether it’s scheduling blocks for assignments, planning courses, or just reserving an hour for your own sanity, a wise use of time is crucial during and after college years.

As you find your force, solidify your vision. And step into the world confidently and boldly.
