Amy Mitchell is currently completing her A.S. degree in Computer Networking/Administration and serving her summer internship.
Internship Office: Where are you performing your internship this summer and can you describe what are you doing?
Amy: This summer I interned with networking team here at St Petersburg College.
Internship Office: Have there been any aha! moments or insights into your field that you have discovered as a result of your internship?
Amy: That as far as the networking field goes, the more experience you have in all facets the better. Prior to my internship I had only had been training with mostly the software side, however I learned a lot of valuable information in regards to physical networking and how both depend on each other.
Internship Office: What is the best part of your internship?
Amy: The team here at SPC is extremely helpful in every way with any questions and guidance.
Internship Office: Is this a paid internship?
Amy: Yes, I am considered an OPS (temporary) employee of SPC.
Internship Office: So what will you be doing when your internship is completed, do you think you will go on to further your education?
Amy: I will be continuing on into the B.A.S. Technology Management program here at SPC in the fall after graduating this summer.
Internship Office: What is the most memorable moment of your internship?
Amy: Being able to get a behind the scenes look at what goes on here at SPC and how it serves not only students, but the community as a whole.
