Meet the New Career Specialist for Downtown- Rebeeca Sarver

RebeccaAt the Downtown and Midtown campuses, we have a new Career Specialist Rebecca Sarver. Rebecca will be working with Kellie Ziemak and Dee Mortellaro helping with resume reviews, classroom presentations, job searching, and major exploration.

Rebecca graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University in 2009. Currently, Rebecca lives in Bradenton. In her free time, she enjoys triathlon training, watching football, and eating Peruvian food.

Next Steps Event Downtown on 9/16

Next Steps-road to successSt. Petersburg College Downtown will be hosting a Next Steps event on Tuesday, September 16th from 12-2 pm in Room 122.  The Next Steps event allows students assistance with:

Working Wednesday was a Success!

On Wednesday, the Seminole campus held its first Working Wednesday event. The event was a success! The first event highlighted SPC’s career partnership with Wendy’s and the AVID tutoring program. The event drew in more than 100 students.

Working Wednesday highlights three different employers each week. Students have the opportunity to talk to employers and fill out applications. The next Working Wednesday will be on Wednesday, September 10th from 12-2 at the Seminole campus in the UP Lobby.

Career Services Professionals in your College Experience Class

SPC InternshipsAre you currently taking a SLS 1101: College Experience class? If so, a Career Services Professional will be visiting your class soon. A Career Services staff member will be reviewing Focus 2 with your class.

Focus 2 is a series of five assessments that a student will take to gauge their work interest, personality, leisure activities, skills and abilities to assist the student in selecting a major and career that fits them!

Be on the lookout for these presentations. You can take Focus 2 anytime by logging onto MySPC->MyCareer->Focus2.
