Clearwater Career Fair November 5th from 12pm-3pm

1208ejAre you seeking a job? Want to know whose hiring around the area? St. Petersburg College Career Center can help! The Career Center at Clearwater Campus will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday November 5th, 2014 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on the campus Quad (Outside middle area of the campus).

Come prepared to interview with multiple employers around the area and meet with different universities around Florida. Many employers are looking for qualified candidates, so remember to bring copies of your resume and dress to impress!

Entertainment and Food will be available from 1:00 to 2:00pm, located outside of ES building.

Concurrent panel discussions will be held from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Panel discussions include:

  • Resume Critique and Interview Tips with industry professionals (Outside at Tent #1)
  • Veteran Session with Lawrence Hobbs Veterans Advisor (Outside at Tent #2)

Job Fairs and Resumes

jobfairsJob fairs and resumes are like peanut butter and jelly, they just go together. So how do you get started on one to help land a job at the other? Check out this article “10 Items to Banish From Your Resume” from the U.S. News and World Report, October 17, 2014 to get prepared.

On October 21st the Seminole Campus hosted an on-campus job fair. We had 39 employers and 97 students and community members who attend seeking jobs. If you missed this, you have another opportunity just around the corner. The Clearwater Campus is hosting a career fair on Wednesday, November 5th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on the quad. Get A Job Workshop 10/21 at Downtown

GetAJob! Flyer DT MTNext week is our “Get A Job!” event. This “come and go, as you please” workshop will cover all of the tips and techniques you need to find a job while you’re still in college. We will talk about everything from where to look for jobs, to what to say at an interview.

Get A Job! will be held on the Downtown Campus in the 2nd floor lounge on Tuesday October 21st from 11am-1pm and at the Midtown Campus in the main lobby on Thursday October 23rd from 11am – 1pm. (Bonus!! This will be a great way to enhance your skills before our Seasonal Job Fair in early November!)

The semester is halfway over and you feel like you are hitting your stride in navigating thispoi thing called college. You are going to class, completing your homework, and studying for tests.  However, you wonder if there must be more to college right? Yes, there is!

Job Fair coming to Seminole on 10/21 from 12-3

St. Petersburg College, Seminole Campus will be hosting a job fair this month. Save the date and plan to attend on Tuesday, October 21st from 12:00pm to 3:00pm in the Conference Center (attached to the library).

This is open to everyone so tell your family, friends, fellow students, those behind you in line at the grocery store. You do not want to miss this. Employers are looking for quality candidates so update that resume, brush off that suit, practice your opening pitch and get here!

For SPC students and alumni ONLY; we have another resource for you called The Ready Room. This will be right next to the check-in table and will require your student number to enter. The Ready Room is a place for you to “get ready” to enter the job fair by making a final appearance check, allowing you to print copies of your resume (bring your resume on a thumb drive), practice your opening line with professionals, and do last minute research on the employers attending. FloridaTrade Manufacturing Day on 10/3

Sign-AgeSign-Age has been in business since July 1990 and is a leader in custom fabricated promotional, informational, vehicle and architectural signage. They are partnering with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the International Sign Association (ISA) to host the Manufacturing Day at Sign-Age Friday, October 3rd. There will be an open house and tour from 10am-11am and 2pm-3pm.

This collaborative partnership will

•Educate students on how manufacturing offers rewarding, good paying and highly skilled career choices.
•Expand people’s awareness of manufacturing and its place in the US economy.
•Showcase the job security and growth potential manufacturing offers within a technology driven industry.
