IT Professional? Attend the Tampa Bay Hi-Tech Training Info Session

St. Petersburg College’s Tampa Bay Hi-Tech Training (HITT) program offers technology certification training to local unemployed residents at no cost to them. This program was created by the U.S. Department of Labor to train IT professionals who have been long-term unemployed so they can upgrade their technical skills. The program covers the costs of tuition, books and fees at SPC or Hillsborough Community College, and is made possible through a $3.8 million grant awarded to the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance and CareerSource Pinellas from the U.S. Department of Labor.

To learn more about this program, attend the information session tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 17th at the St. Pete/Gibbs campus from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Details below. Hope to see you there!

SPC Tarpon Campus Career Expo and Employment Fair Today

St. Petersburg College’s Tarpon Springs Campus in conjunction with Congressman Gus Bilirakis, is hosting a Career Expo and Employment Fair today, Wednesday, February 11th from 2-5 p.m. The event will be held in the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art lobby.

Congressman Gus Bilirakis shared, “I am honored to be able to hold this job fair. Too many of my constituents are still struggling – for them, the recession has not ended. It is my sincere hope this job fair will yield positive results.”

Need help with job search preparation? Come learn how to be a competitive applicant. Stand out from the crowd by attending our resume, job search, and interview preparation workshops. Come to all three, and receive a Boot Camp Certificate of Completion.

Attend the Supply Chain Management Information Session

To help boost the local, skilled, supply chain workforce, SPC will begin offering entry to mid-level certifications in supply chain management. The training is being offered through a $1.5 million federal grant received last year.

The LINCS (Leveraging, Integrating, Networking, and Coordinating Supplies) Supply Chain Management Training Program is a great way to earn entry to mid-level industry certifications that will enable individuals to enter and advance in their supply chain careers.

CTE Month 2015 raises awareness of the crucial role CTE has in readying our nation for economic success and workforce competitiveness. Students and educators alike are developing the skills that will power the future of college and career success.

In recognition of National CTE Month, Governor Rick Scott has issued a Career and Technical Education Month proclamation noting career and technical education offers individuals lifelong opportunities to learn new skills and gain advanced workforce training.
