Motivational speaker Micah Poole talked with St. Petersburg College Summer of Success students to encourage them to focus on their dreams.
Poole urged attendees at the event held in July at the Seminole Campus to make the best of their time and do everything in their power to get things done. He told students he had someone in his life who had encouraged him to strive for and reach his potential. At the time, he said, he didn’t fully appreciate his capacity for success.

Need help?
Poole had someone who helped him. And there are many people working at SPC in areas such as career advising who want to help you reach your goals and dreams!
If you’re having a difficult time working out your schedule, talk to a career and academic advisor or a career outreach specialist at one of the college’s campuses early in the semester.
It will only take a short amount of time to meet with these staff members who can help students envision and plan for their future. Plus, by helping students determine their academic and career goals, students can plan ahead to register for courses in the coming terms.
Don’t forget to encourage your peers to do the same!
Where to be looking for opportunities?
Career Services staff also can help students keep up with internship and career opportunities available while they’re in college or getting ready to graduate.
They help connect students and employers so students get the perfect internship and businesses find future employees with the skills to meet their industry needs.
