Heading to a Job Fajob fair octobersir? If you’ve never been to a Job Fair before it can be daunting. Here a few tips that you should know before you go!

Know what you want
Many job seekers feel like they would take any job. In reality, everyone has a specific type of job that they are seeking. Before going to the Job Fair, determine if you are looking for a full-time, part-time or seasonal job. Are you looking for a job to pay the bills or are you getting ready to graduate and you want your first career job? You should know what you want from the Job Fair. Before you head out to the Job Fair, know what kind of a job that you want.

Learn about the companies
Most Job Fair organizers will provide a list of the employers who will be participating in the Fair. Find out the names of the companies that will be at the Job Fair and spend some time doing your research. Today, it’s easier than ever to research companies. You can get information about the company from their website, LinkedIn, Google as well as trade magazines. Be familiar with what the company does, their history and the latest press releases. Visit the company Human Resource page and find all about the open positions.

Check your appearance
First impressions do count. Make an effort to look your best when heading out to a Job Fair. What you wear and how you appear make a difference to the employer. That doesn’t mean that you have to wear a $1,000.00 suit to a Job Fair. But, you should look presentable. That means spending some time on personal grooming and wearing your best professional attire.
