Why do I need an internship?

Getting a job into today’s competitive job market can be a difficult task if you are lacking experience.  Many companies will not hire you based on your degree alone. Therefore, completing an internship can give you a competitive edge in your search for the perfect job. Internships jump start your career by providing professional networking opportunities, giving you inside knowledge of the industry and company, and allowing you to test the ground or fuel passion in your chosen field.

In today’s fast changing and competitive world, an internship is just the thing to give you the edge.  More importantly, it can help you decide if you are in the field you want to be in!

 

Who can register for an internship course?

Students who are in programs that require an internship or Co-Op course and students who are in programs that offers an internship course for elective credit.

 

How do I know if I am eligible?

Visit the program list and select an internship course to view the pre-requisites for the internship you are considering. 

 

How do I apply?

Visit the application page.  

 

Do I need anything else?

If you do not already have a resume, go to Optimal Resume, open an account and develop a resume.
