Bassist/composer/bandleader Mario Pavone discusses his rich career in jazz as a bassist, bandleader and composer. Admission is free and the clinic is open to the public.

Adolfo Mendonca Brazilian Piano Clinic

2 – 3 PM in HS 117 at St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus

Sao Paulo jazz pianist Adolfo Mendonca gives an overview of Brazilian music in performance at St. Petersburg College. Admission is free and the clinic is open to the public.

Rafael Pereira Brazilian Percussion Workshop

2:30 – 4 PM in HS 109 at St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus


Rafael’s performing resume includes the Grammys, SNL, David Letterman and Arsenio Hall with artists such as Janelle Monae, Prince, India Arie, Bruno Mars, B.O.B, Incognito and many more. Rafael demonstrates the various rhythms and instruments in Brazilian music and will work with participants in batucada, where everyone plays percussion instruments. Admission is free and the clinic is open to the public.
