St. Petersburg College Student Wins Innovation Award

St. Petersburg College’s Music Industry Recording Arts student Vincent Demor recently won the distinguished 2018 National Association of Music Merchants President’s Innovation Award.

Anyone can donate gently used musical instruments at several SPC campus locations from Nov. 27 – Dec. 1. The instruments will be refurbished by Recycled Tunes and then donated to Pinellas County Schools’ music programs. All donors will receive a ticket to the 2018 Gasparilla Music Festival.

The Helios Jazz Orchestra performs at the Clearwater Jazz Holiday on Oct. 20 at 4:15 p.m. The 18-member big band jazz group is a St. Petersburg College ensemble-in-residence and course formed by SPC Music Industry and Recording Arts program faculty member David Manson.
Tampa Bay-area band Miroux, led by St. Petersburg College Music Industry and Recording Arts student Jonathan Hollander, played at the sixth annual Gasparilla Music Festival. The band joined local favorites and national acts at the two-day festival in Tampa on Saturday, March 11.
