St. Petersburg College’s Community Concert Band and Community Wind Symphony will present the annual Community Connections Concert on Sept. 13, this year promoting awareness and raising donations for local charity Operation: Military Matters.
Admission for this event is FREE and takes place at the Palladium at St. Petersburg College. The concerts starts at 7 p.m.
Concert recognizes troops, local charity
Join us in honoring the men and women of our Armed Forces, as well as the pioneering efforts of 12-year old Graci Tubbs, founder of Operation: Military Matters. This local charity raises funds and donations to send care-packages to U.S. active military around the globe.
Attendees will hear stories of appreciation for and about U.S. troops through music and video as well as from special guests. The college’s Veterans Services team as well as other SPC staff will be in attendance at the event.
The concert is free but donations are accepted and will benefit Operation: Military Matters. Attendees can donate money or these care package items: toiletry items, snacks, hard candy, chewing gum, cheese or peanut butter crackers, small canned fruits, flavored water tablets, powdered drinks, microwave popcorn, feminine hygiene products, lip balm, sunscreen, socks, flushable wipes, games, instant coffee, creamer, ramen noodles, beef jerky, tuna or salmon packs, tea, gallon zip lock bags, sandwich zip lock bags, hand lotion, and trail mix.
