Welcome to Spring 2024 at SPC

Happy New Year, Titans, and welcome to the Spring 2024 term at St. Petersburg College. To our new students, welcome to SPC! We are excited to have you here. And to our returning students, I hope you enjoyed your winter break and are kicking off the new year with a renewed sense of passion and determination. I know I am.

As always, our attention is focused on helping you achieve what you came here for; a credential that will prepare you for a fulfilling career that aligns with your interests, your passions, and your abilities. No matter what obstacles you may face on this path, we have you covered. As an SPC student, you have access to free bus rides, food pantries, and mental health counseling. Looking for a little help with time management, study tips, or preparing for a final? We offer free tutoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can get the most out of your classes. Our highly talented faculty and learning resource specialists are eager to help you succeed.

As we jump into the spring term, I want to invite you to experience all that SPC has to offer. Our men’s and women’s basketball teams continue their schedule this month, and our baseball, softball, and tennis seasons will get underway soon. Come out and cheer them on when you’re looking for something fun to do.

In February, our faculty will hold the ninth annual Titan Trot, where we walk and run to raise money for scholarships for students just like you. We always look forward to seeing our community members, faculty, staff, and alumni of all fitness levels and abilities at this family-friendly event.

Speaking of scholarships, did you know that SPC students were awarded more than six and a half million dollars last year? Applications for scholarships for the summer term are currently being accepted, and we also have an additional $1 million in Open Door scholarships to fund short-term job training. Visit the college’s website at www.spcollege.edu to learn more about these and other opportunities to fund your education. Because at St. Petersburg College, we want to do everything we can to help you succeed academically and personally.

You belong at SPC, a place that will prepare you for better jobs and better lives for a better future. So let’s get after it, Titans. Have a great Spring 2024, and I can’t wait to see you around campus and online. Go Titans!
