The Hate U Give Art Project: Original Art and Poetry by SPC Students and Faculty

Original Art and Poetry Project for The Hate U Gives Banner

The Hate U Give original art project is sponsored by SPC Libraries and the Arts, Humanities, and Design academic community at St. Petersburg College.  The artwork is on display at the Tarpon Springs Campus library (FA Building) (Monday, April 29 to Friday, May 17) and is open to the public.

This art collection features SPC Tarpon Campus students enrolled in Studio Art courses with Professor Linda Berghoff, Phi Theta Kappa members, and Tarpon Gaming and Anime Club students.

The poetry collection features SPC Tarpon Campus students enrolled in the College of Education course RED 4511 (Reading, Writing and Thinking) with Dr. Nancy Watkins.

Students created original art and poetry based on themes and emotions depicted in the book The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.  This book was the SPC Reads selection for 2018-19.
