I absolutely loved my time is Spain with the SPC study abroad. I learned a lot from experiencing life like a local, from ordering food at a restaurant to asking for directions on the street. This was the first time I every left the U.S and Spain felt like I was in a fantasy world. Castles and buildings that are much older than anything in the U.S and learning the events that shaped not just the small town we were in, but the whole nation of Spain. This is a program that I will remember for the rest of my life, and I will recommend to anyone that wants to take the next step in there Spanish learning journey.
If you do decide to go on this program, I will recommend some things to you. The first thing is bringing a reusable water bottle. The heat in Spain is very dry compared to Florida, having a water bottle with you makes sure you don’t dehydrate. One more thing that I recommend you do is bring conferrable clothes and shoes. When the professor tells you that you will be walking everywhere, she really means it. Having clothes and shoes that are conferrable while walking up hills and uneven terrain is a must.
I know that I am going on this program again and I hope that if you decide to go that you have the same amount of fun and learn a lot just as I had.
