RN-BSN Programs Orientation Goes Online

Nursing-Orientation

St. Petersburg College nursing faculty are helping meet their students’ orientation needs online.

Online nursing orientation

To meet the needs of students who attend the RN-BSN program at St. Petersburg College, faculty decided to implement an online orientation program to ensure that all students received the necessary information and tools to be successful in their return to school.

This orientation was tied to their initial mandatory nursing course and required that students take a quiz before getting access to this course. The orientation includes information about the program, course progression and available student resources such as technical support, writing resources and a student assistance program. By providing an online orientation, students have the opportunity to become more comfortable with navigating through our learning platform –  MyCourses.

Open-door advising day

In addition to the online component, the BSN faculty members maintained an open-door advising day for students. This allowed students to come meet individually, email or phone  their adviser about their program plan and any other questions they may have. The online orientation was well received by students and helped to continue to meet the growing diverse student population that attend our program.
