Thanksgiving baby, now a student, reconnects with nurse 25 years later

Taylor Griffin began life in the NICU at Mease Dunedin Hospital on Thanksgiving Day in 1993. Nurse Angie Margetto never forgot Thanksgiving day that year because she was called into work to help deliver a set of pre-mature twins dubbed the “Turkey Twins”. She still has a photo of her with those babies but never imagined she would see them again. – Fast forward to November 2017 — An almost 24-year-old nursing student came to Mease Countryside Hospital NICU for her clinical. Angie was the charge nurse in the NICU that day and had to sign the students papers. As they were making small talk, the student, whose name was Taylor, shared that she was planning to celebrate her birthday that weekend because she was one of the Turkey Twins who had been born on Thanksgiving in 1993 at Mease Dunedin. Angie couldn’t believe her ears. The tiny little baby that she helped bring into the world now has plans to be a NICU nurse.
