SPC’s Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement is hosting a discussion titled “Housing Rights and You” on Tuesday, April 22, at 6 PM on the Clearwater Campus.
This event is presented by the Florida Commission on Human Relations and the Pinellas County Office of Human Rights.
Presenters include Mr. Dante Bonner, Education Outreach/Training Coordinator for the Florida Commission on Human Relations & Mr. Jeffery Lorick, Director, Pinellas County Office of Human Rights, who will share their special expertise on how their agencies can help you.
The Florida Commission on Human Relations prevents unlawful discrimination by ensuring that all people have access to equal opportunities in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
The Pinellas County Office of Human Rights is committed to protecting all residents of Pinellas County from cases of discrimination in the areas of fair housing, employment, public accommodations and government programs and assistance. The office also works to recover wage theft in Pinellas County.
The panel aims to educate and empower students regarding their housing rights and responsibilities and the resources available to them. Experts will discuss various aspects of housing rights, including legal protections, tenant responsibilities, and support services.
