SPC’s Community Concert Band & Wind Symphony and Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement are partnering to present a concert that celebrates students’ musical contributions and highlights America’s semiquincentennial on April 16th at 7:30 p.m. at the Palladium Theater. The concert is part of an ongoing series of events at SPC honoring the 250th anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence, which has been branded America 250 by the U.S. government leadership.
In addition to meaningful song selections presented by the talented students, we have built programmatic content about the Declaration of Independence through faculty presentations between songs. Special honorees whose life’s work represents the ideals so beautifully offered in our founding document will also be recognized.

Additionally, SPC Student Veteran April Cervantes will also be honored. April currently serves as President of the Student Veterans of America SPC chapter, where she builds camaraderie among student Veterans and creates opportunities for community service.
Now pursuing a career in Applied Kinesiology, April is committed to helping others heal their physical and emotional wounds.
