URINETOWN THE MUSICAL: YOU MUST GO!
The SPC Theater Department is presenting the summer musical URINETOWN, directed by Scott Cooper. This Summer SPC Theater Program is a great chance to see our local college and Pinellas County high school students both perform and work the production side in a classic musical theater production.
The student musical production runs from June 29 to July 1. There are four performances in the AA Arts Auditorium at the SPC Clearwater Campus at 2464 Drew St., Clearwater.
Urinetown the Musical is based on a water shortage caused by a drought that has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. Citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission. Deciding he has had enough, a hero plans a revolution! Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Obie Awards, this hilarious musical is a satire on capitalism, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, politics, greed, and the musical theater!
