The SEmmy Awards (Seminole Emmys) is a multi-campus/department event sponsored by the Digital Arts, Media and Interactive Web Design department located on the Seminole campus.  Now in its 12th year, the SEmmy Awards bring together SPC students and local Pinellas High School students to compete in various categories such and videography, graphic arts, music, web page design, multimedia, and video game development.

Apply for SEmmy Awards by March 10

SEmmy Awards applications are now open to St. Petersburg College and Pinellas County High School students. Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017.

2017 SEmmy Awards Ceremony

The 2017 SEmmy Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 25 from 7-9 p.m. at the James Olliver Digitorium on the SPC Seminole Campus. Finalists will showcase their works in each of 12 (college) and 7 (high school) categories. The winners receive their SEmmy on the evening of the event before a large public audience comprised of students, faculty, staff, family and friends. This collaborative event unites creative individuals, departments, and programs through promoting the College’s Digital Arts programs to area high schools and to the public.

SEmmy Awards speaker Corey BarkerThis year’s SEmmy Awards featured speaker is Corey Barker. Corey has been a well-known Photoshop instructor for the past 10 years but has been using Photoshop for the past 20 years. Corey is an award-winning designer and educator in a variety of fields. In 2006 he joined the Photoshop guys on the popular podcast Photoshop TV and is a regular contributor to Photoshop User magazine where he writes the popular Down & Dirty Tricks column. He is also author of the best-selling books The Down & Dirty Tricks for Designers Vol 1&2.

Corey was recently inducted into the Photoshop Hall of Fame for his contributions to the education of Photoshop and continues to inspire through his online training, books, articles, and training events. He also recently founded PhotoshopMasterFX.com, a Photoshop design and effects online training site with inspired imagery and training to help you get the most you can out of Photoshop. Corey also teaches at live events such Photoshop World and Adobe MAX. He also taught the Down & Dirty Tricks seminar tour teaching thousands live all over the country.
