Classical pianist Kevin Kenner to perform at SPC Jan. 18

Hear Kevin Kenner in a piano recital at the St. Petersburg College Music Center at the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus on Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The event is part of the Rebecca Penneys Piano Concert Series at the college.

  • FREE for SPC students, faculty and staff
  • Tickets are $10 at the door for the general public
  • Groups of a dozen or more people receive a $2 discount per person

The year 1990 was a milestone for Kenner whose artistry was recognized throughout the world following his triumphs at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw (top prize), the Terrence Judd Award in London, and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (3rd prize).

Since then, Kenner has established himself as a world-class soloist, chamber musician, recording artist and teacher.

Kenner is recognized around the world as a exceptional interpreter of the music of Chopin and has been singled out by leading reviewers for his Chopin performances and recordings. His recent interest in the piano works of Paderewski has also received worldwide acclaim. He has been engaged as a teacher since 1999 when he commenced work at the Royal College of Music in London and since 2015 has been teaching the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music where he further serves as Artistic Director of the Frost Chopin Festival and Academy.
