Congratulations to St. Petersburg College’s Associate Theater Professor Scott Cooper for earning the 2017 Florida Theater Conference Achievement Award for College/University Theater.
The first week of Fall 2017 sign up to take part in auditions for SPC Theater’s production of “12 Angry Jurors.” Auditions are scheduled for Aug. 16 and 17 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Arts Auditorium at the Clearwater Campus.
Siblings Alex and Haley Groth, one on the acting side and the other the technical side of SPC Theater’s Fiddler on the Roof, share their experiences from this twice sold-out musical.
Fiddler on the Roof, a classic musical that boasts Broadway’s longest run, opens at St. Petersburg College’s Clearwater Campus Arts Auditorium on June 30.
This will be a summer-intensive program, open to college and high school students, with both technical and performance students involved in the process. “This is the first time I have ever heard of a summer production/camp for technical theater students also,” said SPC Theater Professor Scott Cooper. “I have always thought it was important not only to help build their skills (since I am a technical theater guy), but get everyone involved in one production.”
On Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art (LRMA), four SPC theater students (and their professor) assisted in a gallery talk entitled “An Introduction to Satirical Opera”.
