NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY IS SEPTEMBER 22

Supervisor of Elections Office to Assist Veterans in Updating Their Voter Registration Information; Pinellas County Residents Are Urged to do the Same

In honor of National Voter Registration Day – taking place Tuesday, September 22 – the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Office is helping our veterans update their voter registration information and reminding Pinellas County residents to register and vote in honor of a vet.

Ambassadors from the Supervisor of Elections Office will be at five veterans’ services facilities around Pinellas County on September 22 to assist veterans in updating their addresses, names and signatures, and inspire currently registered voters to do the same:

  • Bay Pines VA10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines; 11:00 a.m-2:30 p.m.
  • C.W. Bill Young Medical Center, Domiciliary, Community Living Center
  • Veterans Affairs
  • 9500 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg; 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • St. Petersburg Vet Center (available for clients only)
  • 6798 Crosswinds Dr., Building A, St. Petersburg; 9:00-11:00 am.
  • Clearwater Vet Center (available for clients only)
  • 29259 US Hwy 19 N., Clearwater; 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
  • Community-Based Outpatient Veterans Clinic
  • “On National Voter Registration Day, we are reminded of our veterans’ sacrifices to preserve our freedom as Americans, including the right to vote,” Clark said. “We hope our efforts to assist our veterans will encourage the citizens of Pinellas County to take time on September 22 to either register to vote or update their own voter registration information in honor of these brave men and women.”

Voters are encouraged to take the time to update their voter registration information – including any changes to their addresses, names, signatures or party affiliation – prior to 2016. Voter registration applications are also available at any Supervisor of Elections office, public library, tax collector office, government office handling social services or online at VotePinellas.com.

Address changes can be made online at VotePinellas.com, by calling (727) 464-VOTE (8683) or by emailing Election@VotePinellas.com, with birth date included. Name and party changes may be made by sending a signed, written statement to the Supervisor of Elections including birth date or voter ID number. Any updates, including signatures, can be made by completing and signing a voter registration application and returning it to the Supervisor of Elections.

About Jeff Cavanagh

Jeff Cavanagh spent his freshman year at St. Petersburg Junior College back in the early 70s before enlisting in the United States Navy. Soon after, he attended Jacksonville University on a Navy ROTC scholarship. After college, he was commissioned and became a qualified Surface Warfare Officer spending the next 22 years honing his skills as a ship-handler and expert recruiter before retiring in 1994. Jeff expresses a deep sense of pride in St. Petersburg College due to connections that go back many years. His father, Tom Cavanagh, was a career Air Force fighter pilot and combat veteran who taught Geography and Western Civilization at St. Petersburg Junior College in the 60’s and 70’s.
