Student Veterans Association of St. Petersburg College Supports 9-11 Remembrance

This year on 9/11 the Student Veterans Association (SVA) on the Seminole Campus of St. Petersburg College decided to honor our first responder men and women in uniform with sweets.  The group assembled volunteers and donations and purchased cake and cupcakes for all four Seminole Fire Stations as well as the Sherriff’s office.  They gathered first thing in the morning and carpooled to pay homage to the Madeira Beach 9/11 memorial in the Causeway Park on Tom Stuart Causeway.  After their group photo they caravanned to each fire station and ended with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office.

This is the second year in a row that the Seminole SVA has delivered sweets to these brave men and women in uniform, and they look forward to having the opportunity to honor them again in 2016.

This was the photo from station 29 that was posted on the Seminole Fire Dept. FB.  In the above photo the fireman next to the one holding the cake is one of our students as well.

A letter of thanks was addressed to Peter Parapon (Air Force) and a volunteer member of Congressman David Jolly’s staff. Peter was unable to make it to the fire stations but he represented the whole group at the Sheriff’s Department.
