An Open Letter from Major Scott “Mack” Macksam, USA Ret. Regarding the Tampa Bay Veterans Art Center

Ladies and Gentleman

I am Scott Macksam “Mack” United States, Army Retired,  Founder for the First Arts Center in the State of Florida for our Military , Veterans and Families: the Veterans Art Center Tampa Bay 501c3.  For the past year and half I been developing the center concept that will have  various therapy, wellness and educational programs reaching as far away as Frankfurt, Germany.   I personally wanted to do something unique for Tampa Bay that helps to heal the casualties of the long conflict we have been involved and create a legacy for future generations.  The ripple effects of this current conflict will last for decades beyond our generation so the idea is to mobilize our efforts within our own communities .

I am currently securing a property in St Petersburg and once we have completed the final preparations, a grand opening event will be announced.

I know you all will ask ” Where” and that information will be coming soon.

Representing St. Petersburg College, Cdr Jeff Cavanagh has agreed to be a board member. Jeff is a good friend and comrade from the days when I directed the Officers Training Program at USFSP campus.  I can see St Petersburg College to be our premier college that supports the VACTB and those SPC Veterans in your arts program.

For all the SPC arts leadership, I request your interest, support and involvement as we move forward. Please stand-by for more information…………..
