Tarpon Springs Campus students created a display of heroes who are not often listed during the celebration of African American History Month. The display will be in the Library/Learning Center in the campus’ FA building through the end of February.

Marc Regis Hannah, Mark Dean, Malik Ducard, and Ty Ahmad-Taylor are among African American History Month heroes whose who have made significant contributions in the field of technology.
Marc Regis Hannah

As an electrical engineer and computer graphics designer, Marc Regis Hannah helped create Silicon Graphics, Inc. and also created computer programs like Indy Graphics that were used to create effects for many different movies.
Mark Dean

Computer scientist and engineer Mark Dean is credited with helping develop a number of impressive technologies, including the color PC monitor, the new Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) systems bus, and the first gigahertz chip.
Malik S. Ducard

Malik S. Ducard is the Content Partnerships Director at Google where he is in charge of films, TV and new media partnerships for YouTube. Before joining YouTube, he served as Senior Vice President of Digital Distribution for the Americas at Paramount Pictures and oversaw the distribution of films to online, mobile and digital platforms.
Ty Ahmad-Taylor

Ty Ahmad-Taylor is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of FanFeedr, a real-time personalized sports feed. Before FanFeedr, Ahmad-Taylor served as Senior Vice President of Viacom, where he led and managed products for MTV.com, VH1.com, CMT.com and other online MTV properties.
