Interested in earning your CompTIA A+ Certification and becoming a computer repair technician?
St. Petersburg College has a FREE program for African-American males ages 18 – 24 called the PITCH Program.
The college partnered with the city of St. Petersburg’s Cohort of Champions to design the program, which stands for Persistence Incorporated inTo College, Hired. It is designed to deliver high quality educational, career, and character-development training for African-American males in St. Petersburg. SPC will provide future leaders the opportunity to further their education by acquiring an industry-wide certification or college degree in a supportive environment.
SPC’s PITCH Program offers FREE tuition and books, college credit, career opportunities, interactive workshops, and focused end-of-the-course test prep. Upon acceptance in PITCH’s Summer Program, students can specialize in CompTIA A+ Certification (computer repair).

Important dates and locations
- PITCH Orientation: Wednesday, May 10 at 5 – 6 p.m.
- PITCH Spring Registration Deadline: Friday, May 12
- Summer Classes Begin: Wednesday, May 17
- Summer Classes End: Thursday, July 13
All courses for the program are offered at SPC’s St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus and the SPC Midtown Douglas L. Jamerson Center.
Technology degrees at SPC
Students who successfully complete this program can earn college credit and consider enrolling in SPC technology programs, which offer opportunities to earn additional certifications as well associate and bachelor’s degrees.
SPC can train students for a long-term Information Technology career. With degrees and certificates in computer programming, cybersecurity, computer networking, web development and technology management, the college offers degrees that prepare students for the best technology jobs.
