Networking club brings in excellent speaker
Our guest speaker for this inaugural meeting was Jeremy Bresley from Cisco. He did an excellent job informing the attendees with a very interesting quick history of IT and computer networking. He then gave advice on getting a job in the computer networking field and also answered questions from the audience. Many thanks to Jeremy for donating his time and knowledge.
The main purpose of the networking club was stated and feedback from students was discussed. The club was created to help students complete their chosen program. Its main purpose is to help dedicated students meet each other, form study groups to further their understanding of course material and to help them pass the different industry certifications such as CCNA and CompTIA A+. There was much enthusiasm for the upcoming CCENT study group.
Three students were randomly selected to receive SPC swag bags. One of these lucky students also won the grand prize of an official Cisco CCNA study guide set. Complementary pizza was enjoyed by hungry attendees. We will be sending out a survey to students asking for more feedback about this new club.
Thank you to everyone who attended for making this first meeting of the networking club a great success!
