AACC Elected SPC President to the Board

The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) is known to be the voice of America’s community colleges. They represent and advocate for nearly 1,200 associate-degree granting institutions and their students, whose combined enrollment tops over 12 million students—almost half of all U.S. undergraduates. Recently, President Williams was elected to serve as a representative on their Board of Directors.

Some of the AACC’s Legislative and regulatory positions include FAFSA simplification, making short-term workforce programs Pell Grant eligible, and keeping community college affordable and accessible to all. With such an alignment of interests, Williams said she is excited to take a leadership role with the organization.

“I’m so honored to be elected by the AACC to represent their board,” Williams said. “This appointment allows SPC to be a part of an important national conversation, and I look forward to lending my own voice to that mission.”
