Dr. Williams Spends the Day With Students at SPC’s Health Education Center

Over the last six months, St. Petersburg College President Dr. Tonjua Williams has visited several SPC campuses to engage with faculty, staff and students. On Thursday, Jan. 25, she spent the day at SPC’s Health Education Center, where students train in high-wage, high-skill health professions.

SPC’s Caruth Health Education Center, where SPC’s health programs prepare students for the challenges and complexities of the healthcare field. SPC’s specialized health care programs can prepare you for some of the fastest-growing careers in Florida. The College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic gives back to the community with affordable preventive dental care for residents.

Faculty and staff hosted a pot-luck luncheon for the group to enjoy while they talked with Williams. The President expressed her appreciation for their dedication to the college and encouraged them to continue to be engaged.

Williams also made classroom visits with Radiography, Physical Therapy and Orthotics and Prosthetics students before meeting with Bachelor of Science Nursing students and sharing her personal journey and her commitment to student success. Also, she discussed the principles of leadership and how to be an engaged leader. SPC’s College of Nursing is frequently awarded for best nursing college in the Tampa Bay Times’ “Best of the Best” People’s Choice Awards.
