I’m happy to share that on Sept. 14, 2023, the Fuse guaranteed admissions program was renewed and will continue to make higher education more accessible for students in the Tampa Bay area.
St. Petersburg College is often the first step in a much larger journey that students embark on. Many Titan alumni decide to earn advanced degrees and transfer to other institutions.
The Fuse program was established in 2016. It guarantees admission for eligible students into select programs at the University of South Florida (USF) after they have earned their associate degree at the college. Fuse makes the transfer experience easier and more affordable as well.
Since it was launched, Fuse has seen more than 650 students graduate from the program. It boasts a 97 percent retention rate among its participants.
The program renewal was celebrated at USF where I was joined by participating presidents from USF, South Florida State College, Santa Fe College, Pasco-Hernando State College, Polk State College, College of Central Florida, and Hillsborough Community College. My fellow presidents and I agree that the Fuse program is vital to the success of many of our students, and we look forward to seeing it grow and evolve in the coming years.
But most importantly, we can’t wait to see how students use the program to further their education and change the world.
