Some of the fastest-growing occupations in Florida only require short-term degrees or certifications, according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. In celebration, of these Workforce Education programs, February is named Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. Our CTE programs are integral to SPC’s mission to ensure that our students are workforce-ready and prepared to take the next steps on their academic journey.
SPC has more than 30 two-year Associate in Science degrees and over 60 one-year certificates. In 2018-19, the college awarded more than 800 workforce certifications and continues to show an upward trend.
All month long, SPC students will be featured on various blogs sharing their workforce career stories. Biomedical engineering student Tracy Steinberg will discuss discovering a new passion after operating a successful small business. Also, you’ll read Bradley Allen’s story of securing an apprenticeship while earning an Associate in Science in Computer Programming and Analysis. To read more about the highlighted students, be sure to check out the SPC blogs at blog.spcollege.edu as well as the SPC Facebook page and Twitter account.
