SPC President Dr. Tonjua Williams gave her first address to SPC faculty as president at the 2017 Fall Faculty event, held Aug. 10 at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg. She focused on the college’s mission, vision and values and used an interactive poll to help demonstrate SPC’s significant level of influence on students, employees and community.
One of William’s primary goals as president is creating a “culture of care,” carried out through “The Four C’s”:
- Culture – the values, attitudes, and character of SPC
- Communication – how we interact with each other and the world around us
- Collaboration – uniting to leverage our collective strengths
- Creativity – utilizing ideas that motivate and drive success
Williams also talked to the college’s faculty about why it is critical SPC continues to evolve into a “student-ready” college.
“We’re the community’s college, and we’re here to transform lives,” she said.
