Active engagement during the mock session.

On January 27th & 28th nine international students together with other young leaders from SPC went on a trip to visit the State’s Capitol in Tallahassee. In company of SPC’s President Dr. Law students were given the opportunity to not only tour the “New Capitol”, but they also got to experience what it is like to be a representative during a mock legislative session.

This was my first time in Tallahassee and I really enjoyed it. It was a very fun and informative trip. I learned a lot about how the political system works, and also got to meet many new fellow SPC students.” -Fitti Kolbe, Germany.

While enjoying a refreshment for lunch, students also got to meet some of our legislators from Pinellas County, who spared no efforts to patiently answer all questions.

Lastly, everyone came back together in the Senate, where a  real session took place.

The New Capitol was built in the 1970s and offers a spectacular  view from the 22nd floor.
