We’ve Arrived and I Never Want to Leave Spain!

What a journey. I woke up to prepare for my travel at 730 am EST. I was up for a full 36 hours, without feeling completely drained. Every step in my travel I kept waiting for it to hit me; I was going to be in Spain.

At Tampa International it didn’t hit me. In Philadelphia it didn’t hit me. However, on the flight from Philly to Madrid I sat next to a Professora Mexicana. My studying began at that moment.

Travel is always something I wanted to do but never found the time to do it. Now I can’t picture my life without travel. Our host mom made us feel comfortable right away. All of the intimidation I felt prior to the trip vanished at that moment.

Her name is Ana and she is a marvelous women. She feeds us all the meals we eat and I love her cooking. In Spain the meals are simple. It makes you appreciate the core ingredients of a meal. I can’t believe all the things I use to add to the food I cooked at home, it doesn’t have to be that complicated to be delicious.

These next two and a half weeks are going to be so much fun. I love the school we learn Spanish at and I love this city. I’m trying to find out how to describe everything that has happened, just in these first three days. I would have to write a Harry Potter sized novel to cover it all. Pictures are worth a thousand words, hopefully they can communicate what I can’t.
