Spain – Salamanca: I love this city by Tanya Shinksy

What a beautiful city! Salamanca just gets better and better everyday.

We have just been so busy everyday; touring the city, going to classes, having meals with our host families, eating Gelado and tapas, and enjoying the very spectacular Plaza Mayor.

There are so many things to talk about I could very easily get carried away, but I’ll try not too.

Sunday was our first night in Spain and we all met in Plaza Mayor. It is the most spectacular building I have ever seen. It is so grand and the detail in the architecture is astounding. The plaza is always crowded with people of all age groups, from the very young to the elderly. Something I learned the other day was that the movie Vantage Point was filmed there. Also, at around 10-1020 at night the plaza lights up. It is such an awesome sight to see and even that doesn’t quite describe it properly.

It is something that has to be experienced yourself.

I love this city, and that seems to be the general consensus for the group. This is a city I would most definitely come back to, but for now I am going to enjoy every minute of what time I have. Adios.
